…is now well and truly launched, and you’ll find it at Shabd books. This is also the first time I’ve seen the cover of the Hindi version of “Life in the Universe”. Hindi is the 19th language my books have been translated into, which makes me quite proud, actually. I think I’ll celebrate by making a lovely Aloo Palak tonight. I used to hate spinach when I was a kid – I should have taken up Indian food much earlier. 🙂

Kjempebra, gratulerer!

Dear Eirik,
I am very thrilled and excited to inform you that your first edition of both books “Life in Universe” in Hindi as well as “Crow that Could not Count Five” in Hindi have been sold out and I have heard from few state governments from India that they wish to buy your books for their schools as well. Next week, we shall start getting concrete orders and we will have to sign agreements for the reprints of your books with Gyldendal. I have written to them about the same and have informed NORLA and its director Ms. Gina Winje about it. It was important as they supported us in critical times and now we stand at a stage where your books will be reaching out to people who really need them. These purchases by the state governments would imply that all state libraries will have your books and it means these will be available to the poorest of the poor students across india. Though the current number stands at 10 000 (Ten Thousand copies)for reprint but I am sure in months ahead, this number will grow much more.
One reason to put this informatino on your blog is for everyone to know how my friend’s books are taking their roots strongly. If all goes well, you might see yourself once again visiting India in Winters this year wearing your T shirt. Well, as you have seen, our winters are summers to you.
New Delhi has received first showers of the monsoon yesterday, two weeks in advance, breaking record of last 108 years. God knows whats happening to our weather systems. People dye in Europe because of summer temperatures now and in India, we hardly had any summers this year.
Hope you are doing fine there brother and do keep smiling.
Mahesh
